The Grand Island Diocese Council of Catholic Women (GIDCCW) will hold their Spring Assembly in Halsey, NE on April 17 and 18th, 2020.  The DCCW is celebrating 89 years as an organization in Nebraska.  The U.S. bishops founded the NCCW in 1920 and the NCCW will be celebrating 100 years as that organization this year.

One of the keynote speakers for the Friday night events will be Sr. Faustina Lightfoot of the Marian Sisters in Waverly, NE.  Sr. Faustian is originally from Shenandoah, Iowa. She has been with the Marian Sisters for 3 1/2 years.  While studying at pharmacy school at Creighton University, she encountered the love of Jesus and received the great grace to be called a bride of Christ. Her current apostolate is studying at the University of NE at Lincoln for Nursing.  She writes of her great love for the message of the Divine Mercy of Christ.  Her talk will be about the sharing of “The Father’s Divine Mercy.”

Our speakers for Saturday’s session will be Rebecca and John Lillyman, who are members of Prince of Peace Church, at Kearney.  Their talk “Growing In Faith” is a reflection of their time as man and wife and the people who helped shape and direct their path along the way.  They have lived interesting and well-traveled lives.
