2023-24 Grand Island Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (GIDCCW) Resolutions

Resolution #1

Eucharistic Revival

Purpose: To participate in and support the activities during the 2023 Eucharistic Revival in the parishes.

Whereas, There is a need to renew the Church by enkindling a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist;

Whereas, There is a movement of Catholics across the United States, healed, converted, formed and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist; and

Whereas, We are called to be sent out in mission “for the life of the world.”

Resolved, That members of GIDCCW will arrange for the Eucharistic Miracles boards to be presented in parishes across the diocese so as to enhance our knowledge of these miracles;

Resolved, The members of GIDCCW will support and participate in activities presented across the diocese during the 2023 revival; and

Resolved, The members of GIDCCW will enhance their own encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist through prayer, Mass, Adoration, and the Eucharist.

Resolution #2

Vocations

Purpose: To support and implement activities that encourage and promote vocations.

Whereas, There is a great shortage of priests in our diocese;

Whereas, Catholic families need to be strengthened in faith and morals; and

Whereas, Single people need to be recognized as integral participant in our faith communities are encouraged to discern their role in the Church.

Resolved, That members of GIDCCW support priestly and religious vocations through prayer and financial funding;

Resolved, That the members of GIDCCW provide programs to help families grow in faith, the knowledge of Church teachings and the sanctity of marriage, and

Resolved, That the members of GIDCCW will instigate in their parishes a day of prayer, support and thanks for all the single people in our parishes.
